Logging In
To log into your new site, go to the URL provided by the Ligature team. In the address bar, type ‘/wp-admin’ following your site’s URL.
Example
https://yoursite.com → https://yoursite.com/wp-admin
This will take you to the login page. Input your username and password. If you haven’t been provided with a username and password yet, please reach out to someone on your team who already has access or to the Ligature Creative team. Once you have a username and password enter them on the login page.
You will be taken to the WordPress Admin on the back end.
Adding a New User
To add a new user, log into the WP Admin and click ‘Users’ on the left navigation bar. You will be taken to a list of all of the users that have access to your WordPress site.
To add a new user, click the ‘Add New’ button on top. On the new user page, you’ll be required to set a username and email for the new user. You can either override the password now or send an email to the new user about their account that email will provide a link for them to change their password if desired.
Lastly, you’ll want to assign a user role
- Administrator – Most powerful. Has access to everything on the backend.
- Editor – Can publish and manage posts including the posts of other users.
- Author – Can publish and manage their own posts.
- Contributor – Can write and manage their own posts but cannot publish them.
- Subscriber – Can only manage their profile.
Once you are done select ‘Add New User’ and they will be added to your site.
To edit a user that’s already been added to your site, click ‘Users’ to get to the list of all of the users on your site. Then simply hover over the user and click ‘Edit’. Here you can edit any of the details for this User, except the username.
If a user has lost their password, you can click ‘Generate Password’ to update the password for them.
